Demo day

On 27 September, Bronscode B.V. had the opportunity to present our company at the Demo Day of the Vibe of the Future Festival. Of course, that called for a demo. So we developed a small application especially for the day, to show off our expertise in high-tech interfaces and our fast development process.

The context of the application

During Demo Day, all kinds of startups presented their innovations at a stand. As a startup, it matters to secure the best spot, where you attract the most visitors.

We modelled an interactive map of the demo market to simulate visitor behaviour. Using a visual editor, we recreated the exhibition space and all the stands. The stands and buildings appear as blue and grey rectangles, while visitors move across the map as dots.

And what is a trade fair without visitors? We used a random-walker algorithm, combined with collision detection and CSS animations, to simulate visitor movements. Visitors move randomly, sometimes stop at a stand, and cannot pass through walls or one another.
