01 / INTRODUCTION
Wouter Damen combines software development with guiding projects and people. He has been building websites and software since 2016, motivated by solutions that help others over the long term. He enjoys moving between technical challenges and organising the work around them. Outside work, he plays tennis and goes bouldering.
02 / ROLE & PROJECTS
As COO and Lead Developer at Bronscode, Wouter connects technical development with the day-to-day delivery of projects. Since joining Bronscode in February 2022, he has worked on software, sprint planning and client relations. He also helps new developers get started. As a project lead, he gained experience managing two software projects within a team of five to six developers.
03 / EXPERIENCE
Wouter began freelance web development during secondary school under the name WD Software & Sound. From 2016 to 2022, he designed and built websites for small businesses. During his studies at Radboud University, he also worked as a teaching assistant: from 2020 to 2023, he taught exercise classes and graded homework for courses including Calculus, Logic, Group Theory and Real Analysis.
At Radboud University, he completed a double bachelor's in Mathematics and Computing Science, graduating cum laude in both. His bachelor's thesis explored generating kick drum samples with neural networks. He then earned his master's in Mathematics, writing a thesis on functional analysis and isomorphic Banach space theory: The scalar-plus-compact problem. He brings this combination of mathematical depth, programming experience and teaching to his work at Bronscode.
